The New York Chinese Scholar’s Garden was the first of its kind in the United States. Frances Paulo Huber, the Botanical Garden President, commissioned Danaher Design to design their new identity as the garden was being built. She recognized the need for a unique garden on a site that would attract visitors and meet a need in the metropolitan region. This beautiful, authentic garden adds a new dimension to our understanding of life in ancient China and serves as a center for a host of multi-cultural events.
Fran was so delighted with the results, that she asked us to design eight more brochures for the Staten Island Botanical Garden as well as the maps and signage for Snug Harbor Cultural Center. Below are the alternate designs. We always work in black and white first because color can influence the decision.
