I skied more when I lived in NY

It’s interesting how some plans turn out differently than you anticipated. When I lived in New York, I got a chance to ski about 6 to 10 times a year. Now that I live close to a ski resort, I hardly find the time. Staring up a new business, in a new state, is a little like being in a witness protection program – not that I’ve had that experience.

The good news is that I can now brand myself all over again. The bad new is, I now have to brand yourself myself all over again. I have to say that if you decide to start a new business, the Reno Tahoe area of Nevada is a good place to begin. The business networking opportunities here are very impressive. The area has received a bad rap in years, mostly due to the old reputation of being known as Las Vegas’ poorer cousin. Although there are more small businesses than large, Reno and the Lake Tahoe area offers so much more in cultural experiences, entertainment, and outdoor sports than ever before. The area also attract a lot of artists – two of my neighbors are fine artists and they joke that I’m the only one making money from it, despite the fact that some years are better than others.

That’s why I have no time for skiing. I guess you give up one thing to be able to fit another. Now if I could only clone myself…
